Me and the Law

I have made a decision: I will attempt to become a lawyer in a state other than that known for its buckeyes. I will attempt the February bar examination in North Carolina. Due to costs of application and review material, a bar examination is a major expense and time commitment. MicroMash and Study Group cover North Carolina law and recommend around 3 hours study per day two months in advance of the exam. I hope to do self-study, no more than two hours per day for well over two months before the examination, if and when the massive 42 page application is completed.

I am a reluctant lawyer indeed. In the meantime, I am applying for paralegal jobs with the state government of North Carolina and with other public interest groups, most of them legal in nature, potentially allowing for upward movement if and when I pass the examination. I live in hope.
